Cosecha 146 is Plasencia's tribute to a single harvest: every leaf is Criollo '98 grown on the family's Honduran and Nicaraguan farms during the 2011–12 crop year, then aged for years before release. The San Luis is its 5.75 x 54 Toro, and it helped earn the line major critical praise.

What it tastes like

This is the balanced, everyday-elegant side of Plasencia. A Honduran Jamastrán wrapper over Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco gives a smooth medium body with cedar and earth, toasted nuts, gentle coffee and a touch of sweet spice. It's flavorful without being heavy — the kind of cigar you can enjoy any time of day rather than saving for a special occasion. Construction and burn are excellent.

Who it's for

A great pick for everyday smokers and a friendly step up for beginners who've outgrown the mildest cigars. Pair it with coffee or a glass of red. Because it blends Honduran and Nicaraguan leaf, it's a nice bridge between styles — see Cuban vs Nicaraguan cigars for one half of that picture. New to the hobby? Start with how to cut a cigar. Log it and rate it in the Casa DNC app, and for the bolder Plasencia style try the Cosecha 151 La Tradición.
