Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Sun Grown Robusto

The Sun Grown sits between the mellow Connecticut and the rich Maduro in Perdomo's Double Aged 12 Year Vintage line. It is a Nicaraguan puro that ages 10 years in bales and another two in charred bourbon barrels before it reaches you. This is the slightly thick 5 x 56 Robusto.

What it tastes like

This is a balanced medium smoke with a spicy-sweet character. Cedar and toasted almond lead, joined by oak, an earthy backbone, and a warm note of sweet spice that comes from the long barrel aging. The years of rest are obvious in how smooth and rounded it drinks — there is depth here without weight. The 56 ring keeps the burn cool and even.
