Marranitos ("little pigs") is the limited-edition expression of Crowned Heads' Mil Dias line. The 2022 release swaps the standard Ecuador Habano wrapper for a darker Ecuador Sumatra maduro leaf while keeping the line's signature multinational core — Nicaraguan binder around Nicaraguan, Peruvian, and Costa Rican filler. It's rolled at Tabacalera Pichardo in Esteli, Nicaragua, in a 5 3/4 x 52 format.
What it tastes like
The maduro wrapper pushes this edition darker and sweeter than the regular Mil Dias. Expect dark cocoa, espresso, and a sweet, earthy depth, layered with cedar and a firm black-pepper spice. It's a medium-full smoke that keeps the original blend's complexity while adding richness from the Sumatra maduro leaf. Construction is reliably clean with a slow, even burn.
