Jericho Hill was Crowned Heads' first regular-production Nicaraguan line, inspired by Johnny Cash and the song "Cocaine Blues." It's rolled at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí, and every size is box-pressed under a dark, oily Mexican San Andres wrapper. The .44S is the slim one — a 5 1/8 x 44 named after the pistol in the song.

What it tastes like

San Andres is a bold, chocolatey leaf, and this thinner format puts it right up front. Expect dark cocoa, black pepper, leather, and coffee, with cedar and a faint sweet-earth note underneath. It runs medium to full in body with a spicy kick that suits the cigar's outlaw theme. The box press gives it a comfortable feel in the hand and a slow, even burn.

Who it's for

This one's for smokers who already enjoy dark, peppery San Andres cigars — newcomers may find it intense. It's a great after-dinner smoke with espresso or bourbon. Since the dark wrapper is the whole point here, our Maduro vs Connecticut guide explains what makes that leaf tick, and if you like it, try the wider Jericho Hill OBS next.
