AJ Fernandez named this line after his Dorado farm in Estelí, Nicaragua — the origin of nearly every leaf in the blend. A sun-grown Habano wrapper, a Criollo '98 binder, and long fillers from the same plot of land, with only a minimal contribution from other Fernandez fields. It's a showcase of what a single growing region can produce.

What it tastes like

The Nicaraguan Sun-Grown Habano wrapper is the star — it brings cedar, white pepper, and a warmth that anchors the profile. Cinnamon and roasted coffee emerge through the middle, and the final third deepens into dark chocolate and earth. The box-pressed format at 5.5 by 52 burns evenly throughout a 45-minute session.

Who it's for

Medium-to-full strength in a well-balanced package. This is for the experienced smoker who wants a Nicaraguan that tastes of one place, one farm — terroir in a cigar. Pair with an espresso or rye whiskey to match the spice and warmth.

The Dorado is AJ Fernandez's version of single-estate winemaking applied to tobacco. See how Nicaraguan terroir compares to Cuba in the Cuban vs Nicaraguan cigars guide. Check out the cigar strength guide if you're calibrating your next smoke, and rate it in the Casa DNC app.
