Flavor profile

Spice · Earthy · Fruity

The Bellas Artes Toro at 6 by 54 is the most generous version of AJ Fernandez's most adventurous blend. The proprietary Rojita wrapper — a three-way hybrid of Connecticut seed, Corojo '99, and Havana 2000 grown in Nicaragua — is unique in the entire AJ Fernandez lineup. No other cigar uses this wrapper.

What it tastes like

The Toro format allows each component to contribute fully. The Rojita opens the session with baking spice and cedar, gradually revealing dark fruit and leather. The Havana '92 binder from the ancient tobacco-growing region of Quilalí adds a distinctive floral earthiness that separates the Bellas Artes from every other Nicaraguan you'll smoke. Honduran Jamastran and Brazilian Marta Norte fillers add sweetness and body. The last third is the richest, bringing together all the elements in a long, satisfying finish.

Who it's for

Aficionados who want to explore what proprietary wrapper development looks like in practice. The Bellas Artes Toro is a conversation starter — the "what are you smoking?" cigar. Pair with a dark espresso or Armagnac that can handle the complexity.

The Rojita wrapper is genuinely one-of-a-kind. If you want context for how Nicaragua's different growing regions contribute different characters, start with Cuban vs Nicaraguan cigars. Then calibrate your expectations with the cigar strength guide. Track your sessions in the Casa DNC app.
