New WorldExperiencedTatuaje Havana VI Verocu No. 2
The 5 1/2 x 54 Verocu No. 2 — a beefed-up Havana VI with extra ligero. Same Ecuadorian Habano blend, more black pepper, cocoa and power. The 'Havana VI on steroids.'
Flavor profile
Earthy · Spice · Sweet
The Verocu started life as Pete Johnson's amped-up take on the Havana VI — same Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and Nicaraguan core, but packed with extra ligero filler for more strength and punch. Fans nicknamed it "the Havana VI on steroids." The No. 2 is the 5 1/2 x 54 Robusto Grande, a thick, satisfying everyday size.
What it tastes like
Where the standard Havana VI is bright and airy, the Verocu is darker and deeper. The added ligero pushes this to medium-full, with cedar and cocoa up front, a firm black-pepper spine, and earth and leather filling in underneath. It keeps the line's balance but trades some delicacy for richness and body. Construction is solid, with an even burn and a draw suited to the wide ring gauge.
Who it's for
The fuller body makes the Verocu No. 2 a better fit for experienced smokers, or Havana VI fans who want more horsepower. Save it for after a meal with an espresso, a pour of bourbon, or an aged rum. If you like the regular line, compare it directly to the Havana VI Nobles, and our Cuban vs Nicaraguan guide explains where this Nicaraguan-cored blend sits.
