RoMa Craft Intemperance Whiskey Rebellion 1794 Bradford

The Whiskey Rebellion 1794 is RoMa Craft Tobac's most historically layered project — a line commemorating the 1794 Pennsylvania Whiskey Rebellion, when western farmers took up arms against federal excise taxes on distilled spirits. Each vitola is named for a figure from the rebellion: Bradford honors David Bradford, the general who led the insurgents. The blend uses an Ecuadorian Habano Ligero wrapper — the same family of leaf found in the CroMagnon Aquitaine — over an Indonesian Besuki binder and a Nicaraguan-Dominican filler, made at Fabrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño.

What it tastes like

The Ecuador Habano Ligero wrapper gives the Bradford a natural, spicy character from the first draw. Coffee and cedar dominate the opening third, backed by a persistent red pepper note from the Habano leaf. The Indonesian Besuki binder smooths the blend's edges without muting the wrapper's personality, and the Dominican and Nicaraguan filler adds earthy depth and wood notes in the second half. Medium-full in body, the Bradford builds steadily in strength without becoming aggressive. Construction is solid; the wide 56 ring gauge produces a dense, cool smoke.

Named for a rebel and built to match, the Bradford is for experienced smokers who like their Habano-wrapped Nicaraguan blends with some guts.
