RoMa Craft CroMagnon Mandible

The Mandible is the widest cigar in the original CroMagnon lineup — a 4½ × 60 Petit Gordo whose outsized ring gauge makes it unmistakable in a humidor. Named for the lower jaw bone (keeping with the line's paleoanthropology theme), the Mandible puts the maximum amount of Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, Cameroon binder, and three-region Nicaraguan filler into the shortest practical format. The result is a short, dense, very concentrated smoke.

What it tastes like

Sixty ring gauge means a lot of filler tobacco relative to wrapper surface area, which shifts the flavor profile slightly toward the Nicaraguan core compared to the thinner Knuckle Dragger. The Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro still leads with dark cocoa and pepper, but the Estelí and Condega fillers assert themselves more through the draw. The Cameroon binder's sweetness is a subtle counterpoint throughout. Espresso and leather dominate the middle section and the wide bore delivers a cool, thick smoke. Construction on the wide ring gauge is tight; burn and draw are consistently excellent.

Who it's for

The Mandible suits experienced smokers who love wide ring gauges and want the CroMagnon experience in a compact format.
