Flavor profile

Earthy · Spice · Roast

The Allones Extra holds a special place in the Ramón Allones story: it was the brand's first ever Edición Limitada, announced in 2011. The vitola it revived — a 143mm × 44 ring gauge Corona known as Franciscos — had existed in the regular range until the 1970s before being discontinued in the wave of post-nationalization portfolio consolidation. This release brought it back for a new generation.

What it tastes like

The Franciscos format is a classic Cuban corona size — elegant, slim-ish, and well-suited to a 45-minute session. The Allones Extra opens with the brand's signature rich earth and cedar, evolving through dark spice and roasted coffee notes in the middle. Leather is ever-present, integrating smoothly as the cigar warms. The final third is the most intense: the Ramón Allones full-strength Cuban character asserts itself with concentration and depth that rewards patience. Construction, as expected of a hand-rolled Habanos limited edition with long-filler Vuelta Abajo leaf, is excellent.

Collector context

Presented in boxes of 25, this was produced "Totalmente a Mano Tripa Larga" — totally by hand with long filler — from aged Cuban leaf. Original stock is now well past a decade of aging, which has typically softened the spice and deepened the earth and coffee notes on surviving boxes.
