New WorldEverydayPunch Rothschild Maduro
The classic non-Cuban Punch in robusto — a dark Connecticut Broadleaf maduro with cocoa, espresso and oak. An affordable, dependable everyday smoke.
Flavor profile
Sweet · Roast · Earthy
This is the original non-Cuban Punch most American smokers grew up on — the Honduran-made classic that General Cigar has rolled since 1969. The Rothschild is its workhorse robusto, 4.5 inches at a 50 ring gauge, and the maduro version wears a dark Connecticut broadleaf wrapper for a sweeter, richer profile.
What it tastes like
The maduro blend uses a dark Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a broadleaf binder and a filler of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican leaf. It smokes medium-bodied and smooth, full of dark cocoa, espresso and oak with an earthy core and a gentle sweet spice on the finish. There's also a natural version with an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper for a nuttier, woodier take. Either way it's a reliable, well-constructed smoke of around 45 minutes — and a genuine value.
Who it's for
The Rothschild Maduro is a perfect everyday cigar: affordable, consistent and approachable, with just enough maduro sweetness to keep it interesting. It's a great pick for a newer smoker exploring darker wrappers, and a no-fuss daily option for veterans. For a bigger, bolder cigar from the same family, step up to the Punch Signature Robusto.
