The Sun Grown is the savory, spice-forward member of Perdomo's Habano Bourbon Barrel-Aged line. It is a Nicaraguan puro with tobaccos aged at least six years, finished with a sun-grown wrapper that takes extra time inside charred bourbon barrels. This is the everyday 5 x 54 Robusto.

What it tastes like

This is a medium-full smoke with a spicy-sweet personality. Cedar and oak lead, joined by toasted almond, an earthy backbone, and warm baking spice. The bourbon-barrel aging adds a quiet sweetness underneath, but this is the more classically Nicaraguan side of the Habano line — there is more pep here than in the Connecticut. It stays smooth thanks to all that age, and the burn behaves.
