The Padrón 1926 Serie No. 9 Natural is the sun-grown counterpart to one of the most celebrated cigars in the brand's history (the maduro version won Cigar of the Year in 2007). Same 5.25 x 56 box-pressed format, same top-shelf Nicaraguan tobacco aged at least five years.

What it tastes like

Even with the lighter wrapper, this is a full-bodied cigar. The natural shows cedar and coffee up front, with toasted nuts, a hint of caramel sweetness, and a firm pepper finish. It's a touch drier and more wood-driven than the cocoa-rich maduro, but no less complex or powerful. As with everything Padrón, the balance is remarkable for the strength, and the construction is flawless.

Who it's for

For experienced smokers who want Padrón's flagship blend in a more classic, tobacco-forward expression. Taste it beside the No. 9 Maduro to feel the difference the wrapper makes, and see maduro vs Connecticut for the why. If you're not ready for full strength, our cigar strength guide can point you somewhere milder first.

It's a benchmark Nicaraguan smoke for the Cuban vs Nicaraguan comparison. Enjoy it with coffee or cognac, and rate it in your humidor with the Casa DNC app.
