The Robusto is the easy-going workhorse of the Flor de las Antillas line — the cigar that won Cigar Aficionado's 2012 Cigar of the Year. It's a 5 x 50 box press, a Nicaraguan puro finished with the line's reddish-brown sun-grown Corojo wrapper from the García family farms in Estelí.

What it tastes like

This is one of the smoother, sweeter blends in the García catalog. Cedar and a signature sweet-cream note lead, backed by cocoa, roasted nuts, and a light, well-mannered pepper. It's medium in strength — flavorful and balanced rather than bold, with the family's trademark polish. The box press and clean roll make for an even burn and a draw that's open without being loose, all in a tidy hour-long smoke.

Who it's for

The approachable strength and friendly flavors make this an excellent everyday cigar and a good gateway into the García family's work for newer smokers. As a Nicaraguan puro it slots neatly into our Cuban vs Nicaraguan comparison. Prefer a bigger version? Try the Flor de las Antillas Toro.
