Flor de las Antillas was Cigar Aficionado's 2012 Cigar of the Year, and it remains one of the most beloved cigars the García family makes. The Toro, a 6 x 52 box press, is a Nicaraguan puro topped with a beautiful reddish-brown sun-grown Corojo (Cuban-seed) wrapper grown on the family's farms in Estelí.

What it tastes like

This is the smoother, sweeter side of the García portfolio. Expect cedar and a distinctive sweet-cream note up front, with cocoa, roasted nuts, and just enough pepper to keep it interesting. It's medium in strength — flavorful and well-rounded, with the family's polish but none of the heavy spice of their fuller lines. The box-pressed format and excellent roll give it a clean, even burn and a comfortable draw.

Who it's for

Its balance and approachable strength make it a fantastic everyday cigar and one of the easier García blends for newer smokers to enjoy, while still satisfying veterans. As a Nicaraguan puro it's a great reference for our Cuban vs Nicaraguan comparison, and if you're sorting out where it lands on the spectrum, see our cigar strength guide.

Enjoy it any time of day with a coffee, then log and rate it in the Casa DNC app.
