Flavor profile

Sweet · Roast · Earthy · Spice

Le Careme was Crowned Heads' first blend inspired by food, named for Marie-Antoine Careme, the 19th-century French chef who popularized the soufflé. It's a box-pressed cigar wearing a dark, toothy, almost-black Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper over Ecuador Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan filler, rolled at Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic. The Robusto is a 5 x 52.

What it tastes like

The oily Broadleaf wrapper delivers exactly what you'd hope: rich dark chocolate and espresso, layered with cedar, a sweet earthiness, and a measured black-pepper spice. It's a decadent, dessert-like maduro that lands in the medium-full range — full of flavor but smooth and well-balanced rather than punishing. The box press and EP Carrillo construction give it a slow, even burn.

Who it's for

Le Careme is a treat for smokers who love sweet, chocolatey maduros — newer smokers can enjoy it after a few cigars under their belt. It's made for after dinner, paired with espresso, aged rum, or a glass of port. Since the Broadleaf wrapper is the star, our Maduro vs Connecticut guide is the perfect companion read, and the cigar strength guide helps you place it.
