Flavor profile

Sweet · Roast · Earthy · Spice

This is Jaime García's personal blend, a reserva named for the son who carries on the family's cigar-making. The Toro, at 6 x 54, wears a dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over well-aged Nicaraguan binder and long filler from the García family farms in Estelí.

What it tastes like

The Broadleaf wrapper steers this toward rich, dark flavors: cocoa and espresso lead, with cedar, earth, and a firm black-pepper backbone. It's deeper and a touch sweeter than the rosado-wrapped My Father originals, landing at medium-full — flavorful and substantial but smooth, with the family's signature balance. Construction is excellent, with a slow even burn and a draw that's right where it should be.

Who it's for

The dark wrapper and fuller body make this a great pick for smokers who've moved past mild Connecticuts and want depth. If you like this leaf, our Maduro vs Connecticut guide explains why Broadleaf smokes so dark, and as a Nicaraguan-grown cigar it fits our Cuban vs Nicaraguan comparison.

Pair it with an espresso or bourbon after dinner, then log and rate it in the Casa DNC app.
