La Opulencia is the García family's take on a darker, sweeter smoke, built around a Mexican San Andrés wrapper they call "Rosado Oscuro." The Toro is a 6 x 54 with that dark leaf laid over two Nicaraguan binders (one Corojo, one Criollo) and a Cuban-seed Nicaraguan filler grown on the family's farms.
What it tastes like
The San Andrés wrapper brings rich, dessert-leaning flavor: creamy chocolate and cocoa lead, joined by leather, baking spice, and cedar. It's loaded with body but stays smooth, landing at medium-full — there's depth and a touch of San Andrés sweetness without harshness. As always with the Garcías, construction is excellent, with a slow even burn and a draw that's right on the money.
Who it's for
The dark wrapper and fuller body suit smokers with some experience who like a chocolatey, spice-tinged profile. If you enjoy this leaf, our Maduro vs Connecticut guide explains why San Andrés smokes so dark and sweet, and as a Nicaraguan-made cigar it fits our Cuban vs Nicaraguan comparison too.
Pair it with an espresso or bourbon after dinner, then log and rate it in the Casa DNC app.
