Hoyo de Monterrey
New WorldExperiencedHoyo de Monterrey Rothschild
A short, robust Honduran from the core Hoyo line — a 4.5 x 50 with cocoa, nuts and pepper, delivering bold flavor in a quick smoke.
The Rothschild is the compact robusto of Hoyo de Monterrey's core Honduran line (made by General Cigar). At 4.5 x 50 it packs the line's bolder character into a short format, wrapped in an Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf over a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a Honduran-Nicaraguan-Dominican filler.
What it tastes like
For a short cigar it brings plenty of flavor: cedar, cocoa, nuts, and a peppery, leathery edge with an earthy base. It smokes medium-full — more substantial than the cream-forward Excaliburs — and gives you a genuinely satisfying experience in 30 to 45 minutes, with a smooth, consistent burn.
Who it's for
A great quick smoke for experienced smokers who want bold flavor without a long commitment, and an affordable everyday Honduran. Remember this is the non-Cuban Hoyo. For its longer, equally robust stablemate, see the Governor, and the how to cut a cigar guide helps you get a clean light on a robusto.
