The El Güegüense — "the wise man" in the ancient Nicaraguan theatrical tradition — launched Foundation Cigar Company onto the premium radar in 2015 and remains one of the most celebrated Nicaraguan puros of the modern era. Nick Melillo sourced all leaf from a single growing region: Jalapa, Nicaragua. Wrapper and binder are Corojo '99 from Fincas Puntalito and San Jose respectively, while the filler blends Corojo and Criollo tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa aged to full development.

The 5½ × 50 robusto delivers everything the line's reputation promises. Expect a complex opening of cedar and cracked black pepper that softens into leather and dark stone fruit by the midpoint.
