Dunbarton Umbagog Toro Toro

Umbagog is Saka's value entry into his Connecticut Broadleaf family — the Toro Toro delivers the classic dark-wrapper Nicaraguan profile at a fraction of the Mi Querida price using cosmetically rejected Broadleaf leaf.

The Dunbarton Umbagog Toro Toro is the value proposition in Steve Saka's lineup and one of the smartest cigar concepts in premium cigars: it uses Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers that were cosmetically rejected from the Mi Querida production line. Same tobacco farm, same grade of leaf — but slightly imperfect in appearance, which means lower cost without compromising the flavor profile.

Umbagog (the name references Umbagog Lake on the New Hampshire-Maine border, a nod to Saka's New England roots) is sold in craft-paper bundles of ten at NACSA in Estelí — the same factory that produces Mi Querida. The wrapper is a Medium grade Connecticut Broadleaf, one step below the No. 1 Dark used in the core Mi Querida, which results in a slightly lighter character while still delivering the signature Broadleaf dark chocolate sweetness. The binder and filler are 100% Nicaraguan long-leaf.

The Toro Toro (6×52) is the toro expression in the current Umbagog lineup, which also includes Robusto Plus (5×52), Corona Gorda (6×48), and Gordo Gordo (6×56). The toro is the most balanced format: long enough for the Nicaraguan core to develop leather and cedar complexity, wide enough to deliver the Broadleaf wrapper's chocolate notes without restriction.

Strength lands at medium-full — identical territory to Mi Querida, which makes Umbagog an excellent entry point for smokers who want to explore Saka's Broadleaf-Nicaraguan philosophy before committing to the flagship's price. The bundle-only packaging also makes it a practical choice for stocking your humidor.
