Flavor profile

Spice · Creamy · Sweet · Balanced · Earthy

The Camacho American Barrel-Aged is part of the brand's Master Built series, and it has a genuinely novel trick: one leaf of Honduran Corojo filler is aged inside used American bourbon oak barrels, soaking up the "devil's cut" of whiskey left in the wood. It's also a rare all-American-leaf Camacho on the outside, wrapped and bound in U.S.-grown Connecticut broadleaf. The Robusto is the most popular size.

What it tastes like

This is a full-bodied, full-flavored cigar. Up front you get pepper and a meaty cashew nuttiness from the broadleaf, with Pennsylvania maduro adding depth. The barrel-aged Corojo threads a subtle bourbon-and-oak sweetness through the spice — it's an accent, not a flavored cigar. The result is bold and a little decadent.

Who it's for

It's for experienced smokers who like a powerful cigar with a twist, and it's a natural for bourbon drinkers. Pair it with a pour and see how the flavors line up. New to full-bodied smokes? The cigar strength guide helps you brace for it, and our Maduro vs Connecticut note explains why this broadleaf eats very differently from a mild Connecticut shade.
