Flavor profile

Creamy · Sweet · Earthy

Savages debuted at IPCPR 2016 as the first line extension off the Long Live the King DNA. Caldwell described it as "creamier and nuttier" than its parent, swapping the original's Dominican Corojo wrapper for a Habano leaf that shifts the profile in a noticeably different direction. The Super Rothschild (4¾ x 52) packs the entire blend into a short, wide format — more cigar than the length suggests.

What it tastes like

The Habano wrapper contributes a warm, nutty sweetness — peanut and caramel notes that distinguish Savages from the earthier, pepper-driven Long Live the King. Cedar runs through the core; cream smooths the finish. The blend was made at Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic — a factory that burned in a 2022 fire, making current production a different chapter. Medium-to-full in body, refined throughout.

Who it's for

Savages is the right cigar when you want something in the Long Live the King family but softer and more dessert-like. The Super Rothschild format smokes in about 45 minutes, making it an after-dinner pick when you're not ready for a long session. Read the cigar strength guide to see how it compares to Long Live the King's Heater. Pair it with bourbon, espresso, or a craft porter; the caramel notes in the wrapper sync well with those drinks.
