Eight inches. Forty-five ring gauge. The Corona Larga is the extreme end of the Savages line — a long, thin smoke designed for people who want a slow, evolving session rather than a quick hit. At this size the Habano wrapper contributes over an extended burn that reveals layers the shorter vitolas can't develop.

What it tastes like

The Dominican Habano wrapper delivers peanut and caramel early. The slender ring gauge means the wrapper has an outsized influence on the draw — expect sweetness throughout. As the cigar progresses, gingerbread and cedar build, with cream softening the back half. Medium-to-full in body; the strength builds gradually across two hours. Made at Tabacalera William Ventura (now closed; production moved post-2022).

Who it's for

The Corona Larga is a Sunday cigar — you need time and a good drink alongside it. This is not the place to start with Savages; the Super Rothschild or Corona Extra will tell you whether you like the blend in a fraction of the time investment. Once you know you're in, the Corona Larga rewards. See how Dominican leaf differs from Nicaraguan tobacco to understand what makes the long, slow burn here distinctive. Pair with a single malt or a dark rum.
