New WorldEverydayAVO Heritage Robusto
AVO Heritage Robusto — a compact 4 7/8 x 50 Dominican that swaps the Classic's Connecticut for a richer Ecuadorian sun-grown leaf, delivering earthy, spicy medium-body complexity.
Flavor profile
Earthy · Spice · Sweet
When Davidoff relaunched the AVO portfolio in 2015, the Heritage line arrived as the fuller-bodied sibling to the Classic — same Dominican DNA, but with a sun-grown Ecuadorian wrapper that adds texture, earth, and a noticeably darker flavor profile. The Robusto at 4 7/8 x 50 is one of the line's most accessible formats.
What it tastes like
The Ecuadorian sun-grown wrapper is the first thing you notice: it's darker in color than the Classic's Connecticut leaf and adds a leathery, earthy dimension from the opening draw. Cuban-seed Dominican binder and long-filler tobaccos build on that foundation with notes of dark spice, cocoa, and cedar that evolve steadily through the smoke. There's more structure here than the Classic — more oils, more grip — and the medium body hits confidently without ever going harsh.
The Heritage Robusto is also an exceptionally consistent smoke; each session delivers the same reliable progression from earthy spice in the first third to a mellower cedar-cocoa finish.
Who it's for
This is a workhorse cigar for everyday smokers who want a step up in complexity and strength from the Classic without jumping into full-body territory. Bourbon and dark-roast coffee are natural companions, amplifying the cocoa and spice notes. Comparing wrappers? Our Maduro vs. Connecticut comparison helps explain how sun-grown leaf sits between those two ends of the spectrum. And if you're calibrating your palate, our cigar strength guide maps out what medium body actually means in practice.
