Flavor profile

The Perfecto is the most demanding shape in cigar-making: pinched at both the foot and the cap, requiring a roller's complete mastery to construct evenly. Davidoff's factory in Santiago produces the Domaine No. 50 Perfecto with the same exacting standards that define all AVO production — and the unusual shape delivers a genuinely different smoking experience from the round No. 10.

What it tastes like

The tapered foot ignites gradually, producing a gentler, cooler smoke in the opening minutes that builds as the ring gauge widens through the mid section. Earth and dark spice lead early; as the cigar reaches its maximum 54 ring gauge, caramel and cedar emerge from Domaine AVO filler tobacco in full force. A leather note develops in the final taper, and the pinched cap concentrates the flavors into a focused, satisfying finish. Medium body throughout, with a slightly richer texture at full gauge than you'd expect from the Robusto No. 10.

The double-fermented Ecuadorian sun-grown wrapper adds oiliness and earthiness across every section.

Who it's for

Aficionados who enjoy unusual formats will find the No. 50 Perfecto a rewarding smoke — it asks for a thoughtful light and rewards patience as it opens up. Pair with single malt Scotch or aged rum, both of which mirror the caramel-spice profile. If you're new to perfecto shapes, our how to cut a cigar guide explains the V-cut technique that works especially well on pinched caps. Our cigar strength guide puts the medium body of this line in context if you're comparing it against fuller Dominican options.
