The Añejo line is one of cigardom's great hard-to-find treats. It blends well-aged Hemingway tobacco with a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, then ages the finished cigars in cognac barrels. The No. 46 is the corona gorda — a five-and-a-half-inch, 46-ring smoke that's the everyday favorite of the range.

What it tastes like

The cognac-barrel aging gives the Añejo its signature character: dark chocolate and espresso, cedar, and a sweet spice with a faint boozy, cognac-like depth from the Broadleaf wrapper. It's a medium-to-full smoke, rich and rounded, with the smoothness that long aging brings. There's real complexity here for a cigar this size.

Who it's for

Best for experienced smokers who love Maduros and can get their hands on a box — Añejo is released only seasonally, typically around the holidays, and sells out fast. The body and depth reward a developed palate. Pair it with an espresso, cognac, or aged rum.

Want a bigger Añejo? The figurado No. 77 "Shark" is the line's showstopper. For why this Broadleaf wrapper smokes so differently from Fuente's Cameroon and Connecticut Shade cigars, see Maduro vs Connecticut. Grab one before they vanish and log it in the Casa DNC app.
