New WorldExperienced smokersWeller by Cohiba Robusto
A bourbon-branded collaboration cigar — General Cigar's Weller by Cohiba Robusto, a rich, full-flavored smoke meant to pair with W.L. Weller whiskey.
Weller by Cohiba is a collaboration between the non-Cuban Cohiba brand and the W.L. Weller wheated-bourbon name, first released by General Cigar in 2021 and made at General Cigar Dominicana. Worth being clear up front: despite the bourbon branding, the original cigar's tobacco was not aged in whiskey barrels — it's a co-branded pairing cigar, not an infused one.
What it tastes like
This robusto extra is a medium-to-full, savory smoke. The Honduran San Agustín ligero wrapper and Connecticut Habano medio tiempo binder give it body and spice, over a Nicaraguan filler: cedar, espresso, and leather, with cocoa and a peppery edge. It's a bold, flavor-forward cigar designed to stand up to a glass of wheated bourbon.
Who it's for
A fun pick for experienced smokers who enjoy a cigar-and-whiskey pairing. As intended, it's excellent with a Weller or another wheated bourbon, but it also works with an espresso or an aged rum. New to matching strength to your palate? Our cigar strength guide can help.
