New WorldEverydayCohiba Black Robusto
The maduro non-Cuban Cohiba — a dark Connecticut Broadleaf robusto from General Cigar with rich cocoa, espresso and a touch of sweetness.
Flavor profile
Sweet · Roast · Earthy
Cohiba Black is General Cigar's maduro entry in the non-Cuban Cohiba family. It swaps the Red Dot's pale Cameroon leaf for a dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, with the tobaccos aged three years before rolling. The result is a richer, sweeter, darker smoke that's become one of the more popular Dominican Cohibas.
What it tastes like
The broadleaf maduro wrapper sets the tone: cocoa and espresso lead, backed by cedar, dark earth, and a sweet spice. It's medium-to-full and smooth, with the rounded, dessert-like quality good maduros have. Easygoing enough for everyday smoking, but with more depth and sweetness than the natural-wrapped Cohibas.
Who it's for
A great choice for everyday smokers who lean toward dark, sweeter cigars. Pair it with an espresso, a bourbon, or a port. If you're new to maduro and want to know how it differs from pale Connecticut leaf, our Maduro vs Connecticut guide breaks it down.
Keep it at proper humidity for an even burn. Track which sticks you enjoy most in your humidor with the Casa DNC app.
