New WorldAficionadosTatuaje Cojonu 2009
The Cojonu 2009, a long 6 3/4 x 48 Toro from Tatuaje — a full-bodied Nicaraguan Corojo Ligero puro with black pepper, earth and cedar. The series' all-Nicaraguan entry.
Flavor profile
Spice · Earthy · Sweet
The Cojonu 2009 is the third release in Tatuaje's "ballsy" Cojonu series, and it stands apart: instead of the line's usual Ecuadorian Habano, it wears a Nicaraguan Corojo Ligero wrapper, making it a true all-Nicaraguan puro. At 6 3/4 x 48, it's the longest, leanest Cojonu of the early run.
What it tastes like
This is a full-strength puro with the dark, spicy character Corojo Ligero is known for. Black pepper leads hard, backed by earth, cedar, leather, and a base note of cocoa. The all-Nicaraguan blend gives it a rawer, more powerful edge than its Habano-wrapped siblings, while the longer Toro format lets the intensity build steadily. García-family construction keeps the burn even and the draw clean despite the power.
Who it's for
Make no mistake — this is a full-throttle cigar for seasoned smokers and aficionados only. Save it for after a substantial meal with espresso, bourbon, or a neat whiskey. As a 100% Nicaraguan puro, it's an ideal reference point for our Cuban vs Nicaraguan comparison, and the cigar strength guide is genuinely useful before you light this one.
