In 2010 Habanos S.A. created the Ramón Allones Superiores exclusively for La Casa del Habano flagship stores worldwide. Only 5,000 boxes of 10 were produced, making this one of the rarest regular-ish releases in the brand's modern history. If you find it, buy it.

What it tastes like

The cold draw hints at warm spice and cedar before the first light reveals nutmeg and cinnamon interplaying with milk chocolate. The opening third is silky and refined — pecan and cedar dominate, with an even burn and velvety smoke that feels immediately premium. Into the second third the character shifts toward a distinct terracotta minerality layered over roasted espresso, with body that sits at a solid medium level. Smoke it slowly; rushing this one flattens the nuance.

Vitola and format

The Superiores is a Corona Gorda — 5⅝ inches at 46 ring gauge — a format that gives the full-complexity Cuban leaf room to express itself without demanding the full commitment of a Double Corona. The 45-minute smoking time is ideal for a post-dinner session with good conversation.

Who it's for

This is an aficionado cigar through and through. The limited production, the La Casa del Habano distribution channel, and the sophisticated flavor arc all point to a seasoned audience. That said, if you're an intermediate smoker who's been working through Cuban brands, the Superiores is an inspiring step up.
