The Grandes uses the Pacos vitola — a 7⅛ × 49 Double Corona — presented in 12,000 numbered varnished boxes styled as 8-9-8 cabinets holding 10 cigars. What it tastes like

The Grandes is a long, elegant Double Corona in the same 49 ring gauge as the regular-production Gigantes, but slightly shorter (7⅛ inches versus 7⅝). The result is a similar flavor architecture — cedar, floral sweetness, roasted nuts — that arrives a bit earlier in the smoke. The first third is smooth and creamy; the second third opens up with richer earth and coffee notes; the final third integrates leather and deep wood with satisfying complexity. At medium-full strength, it's assertive without being aggressive, making it one of the more approachable large-format Cubans from the brand.

The 8-9-8 presentation is a deliberate nod to Ramón Allones' historic contribution to cigar packaging — the brand originated this stacking method in the 19th century.
