Le Bijou means "the jewel," and 1922 marks the birth year of Pepín García's father — the same kind of tribute Jaime paid to Pepín with the original My Father line. The Toro, at 6 x 52, is the size most people reach for, dressed in a dark, oily Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro wrapper (the rare Pelo de Oro varietal) over an all-Nicaraguan core.

What it tastes like

This is a richer, darker smoke than the rosado-wrapped My Father originals. Expect deep cocoa and espresso up front, a firm black-pepper spice, and notes of cedar and earth underneath. It's a true García blend, so the spice is prominent but balanced, landing solidly at medium-full. Construction is excellent — slow, even burn and a draw that's dialed in. The line earned serious acclaim, with the box-pressed Torpedo named Cigar Aficionado's 2015 Cigar of the Year.

Who it's for

The fuller body and darker flavors make this best for smokers with some experience who want depth without going full-strength. If you like this oscuro profile, our Maduro vs Connecticut guide explains why dark wrappers smoke the way they do, and as a Nicaraguan puro it's a natural for our Cuban vs Nicaraguan comparison.

Save it for an unhurried evening with an espresso or bourbon, then log and rate it in the Casa DNC app.
