Cohiba · Línea 1492
CubanAficionadosCohiba Siglo de Oro
A short, fat 54-gauge Cohiba in a brand-new Exitosos format, launched in 2023 to mark Línea 1492's 30th anniversary.
The Siglo de Oro ("Golden Century") joined the Línea 1492 in 2023 to celebrate the line's 30th anniversary, and it debuted a brand-new Cuban factory size called the Exitosos: a short but thick 54 ring gauge cigar at four and a half inches. The first release carried a Year of the Rabbit secondary band tied to the Chinese zodiac.
What it tastes like
The fat ring gauge over a short length means lots of cool smoke and a concentrated dose of Cohiba flavor. Expect cedar, cocoa, and coffee, the line's classic honeyed sweetness, and a measured spice — medium-to-full, rich, and refined, in the modern Cohiba mold. The short format makes it an intense hour or so.
Who it's for
This is a collector-leaning, special-occasion Cuban for aficionados, both for the limited production and the new vitola. Pair it with an espresso, an aged rum, or a cognac. If you're comparing Cuba's polished style to bolder New World blends, see Cuban vs Nicaraguan.
Limited Cohibas are prime targets for counterfeiters, so buy from a trusted source and store at proper humidity. Note the standouts in your humidor with the Casa DNC app.
