The Behike line is the top of the Cuban Cohiba pyramid, and the BHK 52 is where it starts. What makes it special is the wrapper-and-filler use of medio tiempo — a rare leaf from the very top of the tobacco plant that only some plants grow. There simply isn't much of it, which is why Behikes are scarce and expensive.

What it tastes like

Don't let the short, stubby size fool you — this is a full-bodied, deeply concentrated smoke. Expect cocoa and espresso up front, then classic Havana cedar and earth, a measured black-pepper spice, and a distinctive honeyed sweetness on the finish that the medio tiempo brings. It's rich and layered the whole way through.

Who it's for

This is a cigar for experienced smokers and Cuban devotees — not a first cigar, and not one to rush. Smoke it slowly after a meal with an espresso, an aged rum, or a cognac. If you're weighing the famously bold Cubans against Nicaragua's full-bodied sticks, our Cuban vs Nicaraguan breakdown is a good read.

Counterfeit Behikes are everywhere, so buy from a trusted source. And if you want to remember which box and vitola actually delivered, log it in your humidor with the Casa DNC app. New to full-bodied smokes? Start with our cigar strength guide.
