Flavor profile

Roast · Earthy · Sweet · Spice

Same Mad MoFo DNA as the Toro, but the pointed belicoso head changes the delivery. At 5½ inches with a 52 ring gauge, this vitola smokes faster and hotter through the tapered tip — concentrating the spice and pepper notes in the early thirds before the flavor opens up as you work into the wider body.

What it tastes like

The Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper is one of the most distinctive leaves in cigar-making — naturally oily, dark, and generously spicy. Combined with the Indonesian binder and a Dominican/Nicaraguan/Pennsylvania filler blend, you get an espresso and dark earth opening, rich cocoa in the middle, and a leather-and-pepper finish. The belicoso shape makes the first inch particularly intense — take your time with it. Full-bodied and full-strength throughout. Made at Tabacalera William Ventura.

Who it's for

The belicoso is a natural choice if you want the Mad MoFo experience in under an hour. The tapered cap also rewards a careful, straight cut — clip too far down and you lose the draw efficiency the point provides. If this is your first Maduro, read our Maduro vs. Connecticut comparison so you know what you're signing up for. Pair it with a good bourbon or cold brew; the strength demands something substantial alongside it.
