The American Sun Grown is Alec Bradley's all-Nicaraguan, sun-grown blend, and it brings more body and spice than the milder American Classic it's related to. The wrapper is a sun-grown Habano leaf from the Jalapa Valley, over a Jalapa binder and a Nicaraguan core of Estelí and Condega filler. The Robusto is a 5 x 52.

What it tastes like

Sun-grown wrappers tend to be bolder and spicier than their shade-grown cousins, and that shows here. Expect cedar and a lively black pepper up front, with an earthy, cocoa-tinged core and a touch of sweet spice.
