E.P. Carrillo INCH Maduro No. 64

The INCH Maduro takes E.P. Carrillo's full-inch ring gauge and drapes it in a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The No. 64 is the namesake 6 1/8 x 64 gordo, the maduro counterpart to the natural INCH and a richer, sweeter take on the big-ring formula.

What it tastes like

Swapping the natural Sumatra leaf for a velvety Connecticut Broadleaf maduro changes the whole character. Over the same Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan-Dominican filler, the maduro wrapper brings warm cocoa, coffee, and leather, finished with a sweet, spicy edge and a steady note of black pepper. The huge ring gauge keeps the draw cool and the smoke voluminous, while the body holds in the medium-full range. It is the more dessert-like member of the INCH family.
