Flavor profile

Earthy · Roast · Spice · Sweet

The Late Hour is the after-dark sibling of the Winston Churchill line, created for the end of the evening with a glass of something brown. Its signature trick: a portion of the tobacco is aged for six months inside used single-malt Scotch whisky casks, which adds a distinctive sweet, oaky depth. The Toro, at 6 by 54, is the format that best showcases it.

What it tastes like

This is a medium-to-full smoke and noticeably bolder than the Original line. The Ecuador Habano wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder, and Dominican-plus-Nicaraguan filler give cedar, espresso, black pepper, and leather, while the whisky-cask aging lends a rounded sweet-oak character underneath. It's rich and complex but stays balanced thanks to Davidoff's blending.

Who it's for

This one is for experienced smokers who want a fuller, more layered cigar to close out a meal or an evening. As you'd guess, it pairs beautifully with a single malt, but a bourbon or strong espresso works just as well.

If this is more body than you want, the Davidoff Winston Churchill The Original Robusto is the medium-bodied version of the line. For pacing a fuller cigar, see our cigar strength guide, then log it in the Casa DNC app.
