Avo Uvezian was a musician first, and he brought that sensibility to naming his cigars — Maestoso is a musical direction meaning "majestic." At 7 x 48 with six-plus years of aging behind every leaf, it lives up to the name.

What it tastes like

The Maestoso's Churchill format delivers a long, unhurried smoke — roughly two hours at a relaxed pace. The Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper is pale and tightly packed, releasing cream and cedar from the first draw. Aged Dominican fillers build complexity as the cigar progresses: the second third introduces almond and dried fruit notes — golden raisin and fig — that develop naturally from the long aging process. A honey-like sweetness winds through the final third, and the finish is long, woody, and clean. There's never any bitterness, no heat spike, no rough edges. This is everything excellent aging does to premium Dominican leaf.

Mild-to-medium in body, the Maestoso is deceptively complex for its strength level.

Who it's for

This is a cigar for aficionados who understand that length and time are the real luxury here. Set aside two hours, pour something worth sipping — Armagnac, single malt Scotch, excellent cold brew — and let the Maestoso do its work. It's not a beginner's cigar, not because it's intense but because appreciating its subtlety requires some palate development. Our cigar strength guide helps calibrate expectations, and our how to cut a cigar guide covers straight-cut technique for this classic format.
