CubanExperienced smokersPartagás Serie D No. 5
A short, fat petit robusto that delivers the full Partagás Serie D character in about an hour of relaxed smoking.
Flavor profile
Earthy · Roast · Sweet · Spice
The Partagás Serie D No. 5 is the little brother of the famous No. 4 — same fat 50 ring gauge, but shorter. It started life as a 2008 Edición Limitada and proved popular enough to join the regular line-up, which tells you how much smokers liked it.
What it tastes like
It opens gently, with a cold draw of subtle chocolate, then settles into leather, roasted nuts and a touch of cocoa. The back half is where it grows up: the body firms toward medium-full and you get honeyed sweetness and a little white pepper. Despite the stubby format it's well packed, with an easy draw and a clean burn.
Who it's for
This is a great "I've got an hour" Cuban for someone who already enjoys the Serie D profile but doesn't want to commit to a longer smoke. It's a notch milder than the No. 4, which makes it friendlier, though it's still firmly an experienced-smoker cigar. If you like it, the full-size Serie D No. 4 is the natural next step, and the Cuban vs Nicaraguan comparison puts the Havana style in context.
