The Partagás Añejo is a milestone for the brand — its first "barber pole" cigar, wrapping two leaves in a striped spiral. General Cigar built it from some of the most aged tobacco it had on hand: a rare 1998 Cameroon wrapper twined with a 2013 Connecticut Shade. This entry is the short, fat 4.5 x 49 Petit Robusto.

What it tastes like

The two-wrapper construction gives the Añejo a distinctive character: the Cameroon brings cedar, nuts and a little pepper, while the Connecticut Shade adds sweet cream and smoothness. It opens mellow and builds gently to a medium body, with coffee filling in the middle. Thanks to all that age on the tobacco, it smokes refined and polished rather than raw — easygoing but with real depth.

Who it's for

This is a fun, characterful cigar for someone who appreciates aged tobacco and likes the look and play of a barber pole. It's mellow enough to enjoy with a morning coffee yet interesting enough to reward attention. It's a nice contrast to the brand's bigger, bolder offerings like the full-bodied Black Label Máximo.
